We were recommended to Sovereign Building Company by some friends who had previously built their dream home with David and his team. I haven't stopped thanking them since!

When we first started thinking about building, we were sceptical due to all the horror stories we had heard about builders. But as soon as we met David, our fears were laid to rest. We initially met Dave and Danielle after purchasing one of their first properties in Burswood. Which ultimately went on to winning a housing award.

Even before winning the award, we purchased the property, still under construction as we were impressed by the layout and how much was available in a town house layout. I have grown up seeing my father design houses and every time I look at house plans, I immediately start thinking how the layout could be improved. In Dave's houses, the flow and layout seem to work so well, I didn't feel there was any changes that could be made. By winning an award you can see why.

When we eventually decided to build our next house, now our current home, we went to Dave and met with him and his designer directly with a scribbled design. Dave helped us finalise our design, which almost felt like he was taking on building his own home. This is the feeling we had through the whole process of building our home. It was our home but he spent a lot of time making sure the end result is what we wanted, he shared our vision. We often get complimented on our house and I take pride in telling people we designed it ourselves and what a wonderful job Sovereign did in creating our wonderful home.

I always say the best way to evaluate a builder is not just how they did their job but how they handle the problems. As with any building project there are always a few unforeseen problems, Dave was always on the ball and would pick up a problem before it became a bigger and was in communication with us to work out a solution, if it needed our input. If it didn't need our input he dealt with everything promptly. Our full two story home was even finished ahead of schedule. Even if the suppliers were at fault he would work to make sure the end result was maintained. Dave truly takes pride in his work and made sure the relevant trades were completing the job to a high standard.

Our home was also entered in the HIA housing awards. We were proud of our home and it was a buzz to have our home featured in the housing magazine. It might not have won overall but we are still very pleased with the work that was completed by Dave and his team at Sovereign. Sovereign has come a long way with a lot of hard work from Dave, Danielle and their team. From the garage of the family home to the company it is now. Dave and Danielle have a lot to be proud of and their hard work.

We had such a great working relationship with Dave, when we build again we will definitely be speaking with Sovereign. However I am happy staying put in our lovely home for now.

We initially met with Sovereign following a friend’s recommendation, they had been impressed with David Savietto’s communication and the quality of the trades employed. We had some great ideas when we met with the designer and we were very impressed by how he listened and presented us with a first draft front elevation which we absolutely loved and barely changed.

When telling my friends that I was about to build 6 separate homes in a small cul-de-sac location. All I heard was "building – you will be sorry! From design stage – my wish list was met without too many changes to plans – they listened!

Building from the UK in Australia was easy with Sovereign Building Company. In 2006 I found that David and Danielle had started their own company, Sovereign. From the start to finish, Sovereign used mainly local Yanchep tradesmen that are excellent craftsmen, they have now become my friends and i am proud of their work.

Sovereign Building Company took complete control of the work while i was in the UK working. In just eight months my first class home was completed. It’s a two storey four bedroom home with a large balcony overlooking the ocean. It’s different from the project builder homes. I did try and find a project builder to price this type of design but they only wanted their style of house.

We are very happy with our completed house which grew from the initial concept of building a Federation replica house to fit in with the Bassendean traditional style that evolved around the Australia Federation period.

Initially Sovereign had not completed a Federation replica house and we had to do considerable research referencing architectural books and content on the internet (www) covering the Australian Federation period. These concepts and themes where provided to Sovereign to produce a Federation house design for our long narrow block. Sovereign gave us good flexibility to independently source specialist Federation suppliers and tradespeople to work in with their building supervisor. Independent suppliers included Federation Tile Factory, Recollections (electrical fittings), Perth Plaster Mouldings (Corbels, Living Arch, Ceiling Roses), Traditional Stained Glass (large feature Leadlight window), Perth Timber Floors, 19th Century Nostalgia, and The Colour Collection.

In combination with the Building Supervisor we were allowed good site access to synchronise specialist federation tradespeople with the builders schedule and trades persons. At times the synchronisation was difficult when fitting in specialist tradespeople, but with regular communication with Building Supervisor we were able to achieve a successful outcome.

Finally after considerable collaboration and cooperation between Builder, Building Supervisor, Specialist Suppliers and Trades persons we achieved our target goal for our authentic Federation luxury replica home.

I wish to share our experiences we had during our dealings with Sovereign Building Company. We build spec. homes to sell in blue chip suburbs and had dealt with more main stream project builders up until our last project in South Perth.
We purchased the block of land from the Jones Ballard Property Group and when we told them what we had in mind for the block they suggested that Sovereign Building Company may be worth talking to as an alternative to the project builders we had previously been frustratingly dealing with.

We had our first meeting with Sovereign and almost immediately they made us feel at ease and that we were in very capable and experienced hands. We discussed our budget and our objectives for that particular project and they, at all times, were offering alternatives and more cost effective solutions to the normal hurdles that construction of any kind can throw in your way.

The most overwhelming point we experienced with these accomplished young builders was their pride in their workmanship and the certain facets of the construction process that they would not compromise on regardless of the cost to either themselves or us which reassured us that these people would be able to deliver on the promises they made in respect to quality. The project was of a very high standard of finish and we are very exacting clients who expect that if it says 2340mm on the plans then it should be indeed 2340mm on site. This passion for excellence was tolerated and embraced throughout the whole design, pre-construction phase and most importantly during the actual build of the home.

The end result was an amazing residence built to perfection on a very small and difficult block. The quality of the workmanship is of such a high level it has been selected for judging in the HIA building awards coming up very soon, hopefully it takes out a prize which would be great kudos for this caring family operation and of course we would be pretty chuffed too as we are very proud of our SOVEREIGN home!!
